The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released a short notification for AFCAT 01/2027 Batch Recruitment 2026 for candidates seeking to join the Flying Branch and Ground Duty branches. The recruitment is for the January 2028 course, with a total of 379 vacancies announced.

- Flying Branch:
- 20 to 24 Years (Born between 02 January 2004 and 01 January 2008, both dates inclusive).
- Upper age limit relaxed up to 26 years for candidates holding a valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) issued by DGCA (India).
- Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branches:
- 20 to 26 Years (Born between 02 January 2002 and 01 January 2008, both dates inclusive).

Trade & Discipline Wise Eligibility Criteria
Branch Name Qualification & Eligibility Details Flying Branch Passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics AND Graduation in any discipline with min 60% marks OR B.E./B.Tech degree with min 60% marks. Ground Duty (Technical) – AE (L) Passed 10+2 with min 60% marks each in Physics & Mathematics AND 4-Year Graduation/Integrated PG Degree in Engineering/Technology (Electronics/Telecom/Communication/Electrical) with min 60% aggregate. Ground Duty (Technical) – AE (M) Passed 10+2 with min 60% marks each in Physics & Mathematics AND 4-Year Engineering Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Aeronautical/Automobile with min 60% aggregate. Ground Duty (Non-Tech) – Admin & Logistics Passed 10+2 AND Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks. Ground Duty (Non-Tech) – Accounts Passed 10+2 AND Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B.Com) with a minimum of 60% marks. Ground Duty (Non-Tech) – Education Passed 10+2 AND Post-Graduation Degree (MA / M.Sc / MCA / MBA) with a minimum of 50% marks AND Graduation with min 60% marks. Ground Duty (Non-Tech) – Weapon Systems Passed 10+2 with min 50% marks in Physics & Maths AND Graduation in any discipline with min 60% marks. NCC Special Entry (Flying) Valid NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ Certificate PLUS eligibility criteria of Flying Branch.
